Adamawa State Government Receives Donation Of Medical Equipment

Adamawa State Government has received a truck load of medical equipment donated by Sir Emaka Ofor Foundation meant specifically for the Federal Medical Centre FMC Yola for general healthcare services and containment of COVID-19 pandemic in the state.

The equipment included surgical instruments, masks, tracheostomy tubes, syringes, globes, and other different items and consumables which can be used for medical and surgical issues in the FMC and state Specialist Hospital Yola.

The items were received on behalf the government at the Psychiatric Unit of Specialist Hospital, Yola on Thursday, by the Secretary to the State Government who is the Chairman of the State COVID-19 Containment Committee Malam Bashir Ahmad alongside his members.

Speaking to newsmen shortly after a formal receive of the equipment , Malam Ahmad thanked the Emaka Ofor Foundation for donating the equipment which he said came at the right time when the whole world is suffering from the deadly Coronavirus pandemic.

Earlier in his remark before handing over the equipment to the government, Deputy Superintendent of Police DSP Gbenga Ali said his team arrived Onitcha on the sixth of April and received the items from the Emaka Ofor Foundation back to the state.

On his part, the Medical Director FMC Yola Professor Auwal Mohammed Abubakar thanked the donors for the gesture and assured that the equipment and consumables will be used for the purpose intended to benefit the people and the state.

He saluted Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri for his efforts in facilitating the donation to the FMC, Yola and appreciated the team of security personnel that ensured safety deployment of the equipment to the state.
